Fortunately, the vast majority of adults with CF enjoy normal and fulfilling social lives. But when you have CF, interactions with friends can sometimes seem particularly supportive or stressful. We have to face the fact that we are different than our healthy peers, and we don’t want to be.

When CF makes us different, it can feel bad. It can be hard to explain CF to your healthy friend, or to know when to turn down invitations that might be unhealthy for you.
