With so many events each year, the Rainbow Chapter relies heavily on the time and talent of our dedicated volunteers in fund-raising efforts. Whether you are a sports enthusiast, gala lover-at-heart, cheerleader or a team captain, we have an event for you! We are always looking for a fresh face with great ideas, so please consider:
Fund-Raising
Think of the fund-raising possibilities right in your neighborhood and workplace. Fund-raising opportunities include, but are not limited to:
• Forming a team for a Great Strides walk-a-thon
• Selling admission tickets for one of the chapter’s events
• Holding an ice cream social in your place of business
• Planning a pancake breakfast or spaghetti dinner
Volunteering on Event Day
Event day opportunities include, but are not limited to:
• Working the registration table
• Auction set-up and check-out
• Coat check
• Raffle ticket sales
• Picking-up or dropping-off auction items, etc. before and after an event
• Clean-up
Serving on a Committee
Our committees are the backbones of our events, and we need you! This group of amazing people helps to recruit team leaders through business and family contacts, gets local businesses involved in our events through corporate sponsorships and rounding up donations for our live and silent auctions. Committee member opportunities include, but are not limited to:
• Leveraging personal and professional contacts to secure event sponsorships
• Soliciting auction items
• Soliciting event attendees and volunteers
• Fostering media relations
General Office Work (many of these may be done in your own home)
• Mailings (stuffing envelopes, labeling)
• Data entry
• Phone banking
