Dr. Ran D. Anbar

The Central New York Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is excited to share with you our Honoree for the 2014 65 Roses Dinner Dance. It is our privilege to announce Dr. Ran Anbar as our event Honoree.

Ran D. Anbar, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY.  In addition to serving as the Director of the Robert C. Schwartz Cystic Fibrosis Center in Syracuse for the past 20 years, he also is an integral member of the CF Patient Care team and sees patients on a daily basis.  Prior to his current position, he was an Associate Director of the CF Center at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA.  Following his graduation from the University of Chicago, Dr. Anbar completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA, which was sponsored by a CF Foundation grant.  Dr. Anbar has dedicated his professional life to ensuring that individuals with cystic fibrosis receive comprehensive and compassionate care as well as supporting efforts to find a cure.

Important note on attendance for people with CF and their families:
The health and well-being of people with cystic fibrosis is our top priority. Medical evidence shows that certain bacteria can be passed between individuals who have CF and can lead to worse symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To limit the serious risk of cross-infection between people with CF, only one person with CF may be invited to attend the indoor portion of each CF Foundation-sponsored event.  For the outdoor portion of the event, people with CF should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other.

Please note: People with CF and their families should be aware that individuals with CF might choose to attend Foundation events or meetings without notifying event organizers. We strongly discourage this; however, we cannot guarantee that only one person with CF will be present at any indoor Foundation event. For more information, please call your local chapter.
