Join us for the Charlotte region’s inaugural Aptalis CF Cycle For Life® ride on July 21, 2012 in Waxhaw, NC! With two route options, a 35-mile and 65-mile, cyclists will ride along miles of cycle-friendly roads rolling beside undeveloped farmland and beautiful scenic views. Cross into South Carolina’s piedmont region on the 65 mile route and enjoy a taste of Lancaster County!

This ride is fully supported with well-stocked rest stops every 8-10 miles, support and gear (SAG) vehicles, on-site medical services, breakfast, lunch, entertainment, and so much more! This unique event will empower participants to take action and demonstrate their support in the fight against cystic fibrosis in a powerful way. Ride as an individual, join a team, or start a new team. Together we will reach our $100,000 goal!

For more information, please contact Jolly Johnson at 704-321-7852.

Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to participate in the Aptalis CF Cycle For Life®.  Bike helmets are required to ride.

Because of risks to people with cystic fibrosis, individuals with a confirmed positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia complex shall not attend this event. This is because B. cepacia can be passed between individuals who have CF through close proximity. B. cepacia infection in a person with CF can cause serious respiratory illness and, in some patients, may lead to death.

Despite this policy, there might still be some individuals with B. cepacia in attendance. B. cepacia is not a risk for otherwise healthy individuals. Learn more about alternative ways in which a person with B. cepacia can participate, or call the CF Foundation at (800) FIGHT-CF. Consult your CF care center physician with medical questions.
