Flying Pig Marathon

Team for Life is a fundraising endurance program that is composed of a group of individuals from throughout the Greater Cincinnati area who are dedicated to raising money to fund much needed research to find a cure for CF. Each fundraising participant will have a $1,000 fundraising commitment and will have the option of training for the Full Marathon, Half Marathon or Relay at Cincinnati's own Flying Pig Marathon. Thanks to our partners at Fleet Feet Sports, we are thrilled to be able to offer you the best training program in the Tri-State!

The Fleet Feet Sports Full Marathon & 1/2 Marathon Training Programs is a 16-18 week program designed to prepare runners, run/walkers and walkers for their first ever endurance event or to help seasoned runners, run/walkers or walkers meet a new performance goal.
The program includes a training plan designed by experienced coaches, two weekly coach-led group runs and walks along with a weekly optional workout, a moisture wicking training shirt, off site workouts to help you become familiar with the Flying Pig Marathon course and much more! It is recommended that participants are comfortable running or walking 2-3 miles by the time the program begins.

Important note on attendance for people with CF and their families:
The health and well-being of people with cystic fibrosis is our top priority. Medical evidence shows that certain bacteria can be passed between individuals who have CF and can lead to worse symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To limit the serious risk of cross-infection between people with CF, only one person with CF may be invited to attend the indoor portion of each CF Foundation-sponsored event.  For the outdoor portion of the event, people with CF should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other.

Please note: People with CF and their families should be aware that individuals with CF might choose to attend Foundation events or meetings without notifying event organizers. We strongly discourage this; however, we cannot guarantee that only one person with CF will be present at any indoor Foundation event. For more information, please call your local chapter.
