Reach for a Star Gala

Event Overview

Gala

November 7, 2014

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
100 Cardondelet Plaza
Clayton, MO 63105

The Express Scripts Reach for a Star Gala is the Gateway Chapter's most elegant and anticipated event of the year. The event will celebrate the heroes in our community who are working to provide a hopeful future for those living with cystic fibrosis. It also recognizes the many individuals and their families that struggle daily with the disease.

This year's event is named the Big Easy Ball as we transport our guests to a night in New Orleans with jazz music, sweet tea, creole food, and nonstop entertainment. The night will be full of glitz and glamour as guests enjoy cocktails and a gourmet dinner, bid on live and silent auctions, and dance the night away with live music.

2014 Honorees

The Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Inspiration Award honors the Saint Louis region's most active and inspiring community leaders and organizations who have made a remarkable difference in the local community through philanthropic involvement.

We will present the 2014 Alan A. and Edith L. Wolff Inspiration Award to Carey and John Judson, owners of the Two Men and a Truck franchise in St. Louis. The Judsons' moving company regularly provides thousands of hours of donated moving services to community non-profit organizations in Greater St. Louis every year.

On a personal level, Mr. and Mrs. Judson are involved with numerous veteran, youth, and health related organizations in St. Louis, and they always encourage their employees to get involved in philanthropic efforts as well.

The Gateway Chapter is honored to have Carey and John Judson as our advocates in the fight for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis! We hope you join us at this year's gala as we thank them for their philanthropic efforts.

For more information on how to attend or become a sponsor of this year's event, please contact Jill Lewin at the CF Foundation office at 314.733.1241 or

Important note on attendance for people with CF and their families:
The health and well-being of people with cystic fibrosis is our top priority. Medical evidence shows that certain bacteria can be passed between individuals who have CF and can lead to worse symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To limit the serious risk of cross-infection between people with CF, only one person with CF may be invited to attend the indoor portion of each CF Foundation-sponsored event.  For the outdoor portion of the event, people with CF should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other.

Please note: People with CF and their families should be aware that individuals with CF might choose to attend Foundation events or meetings without notifying event organizers. We strongly discourage this; however, we cannot guarantee that only one person with CF will be present at any indoor Foundation event. For more information, please call your local chapter.
