Incoming President of Georgia Board of Directors Selected by The Coca-Cola Company as U.S. Torchbearer for Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games

Liz Burns, Outstanding CFF Volunteer and U.S. Torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games |
Liz Burns, the incoming president of the board of directors of the Georgia Chapter, chairs Chocolate!, one of the top 5 fundraisers for the CFF GA Chapter. Liz and the Chocolate! team have raised more than $500,000 for cystic fibrosis research. Coca-Cola selected her to be a U.S. Torchbearer with 19 other inspiring people because of their passion for living positively and for affecting meaningful, enduring change in their local and global communities. She was recognized for her leadership and commitment to “Living Positively,” in particular with the CFF. Now Liz is asking for our help to get the cystic fibrosis message out to the world.
We have a unique opportunity to network our way to a significant contribution to cystic fibrosis research using Facebook. First, become a fan of “Olympic Liz” on Facebook here and follow her journey over the next several months. Invite your friends and their friends to follow along, too. On your wall, ask them to click here http://georgia.cff.org/lizburns and make a donation for cystic fibrosis research, remembering that Every Dollar Counts! Repeat this message for all your other social media pages and finally, forward this message to everyone in your email address book.
This is a unique opportunity for us to band together with one of our volunteers to Make A Difference…to create more awareness and more funding for the cystic fibrosis research that is so vital to our mission of finding a cure.

A Message From Liz:
"My name is Liz Burns and I am a volunteer and board member for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, GA Chapter. I am carrying the Coca-Cola Olympic Torch in Calgary on January 18, 2010 in honor of the patients and families living with this disease. I do not have a personal connection to cystic fibrosis, but it has become personal because of the people I have met through the CFF.
My dream is for a day when patients with cf no longer have to worry about whether they will grow old enough to graduate from college, or to fall in love, or to hold their first child in their arms...but instead know that they will do all these things and much more as they grow old together.
Watch this video of some very special people as they share their dreams about cystic fibrosis, and if you are moved in any way, donate $5 now. Then forward this message to everyone you know through email, twitter, facebook, linked-in... You can make a difference. 30,000 patients, 30,000 donors working together to add more tomorrows every day."
