On Wednesday, December 14 the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Kentucky/West Virginia Chapter held the First Annual Awards Dinner at BJ's Restaurant in Louisville, KY. The 2011 honorees included: Breath of Life Award, Chris Saling; Pass the Passion Award, Melissa and Doug Chambers; Rookie of the Year Award, Blakey Martin; Super Striders Award, Julie and Dennis Walsh; Thanks a Million Award, Kosair Charities; Volunteer of the Year, Roy Ice (Troy Colon accepted on Roy's behalf).
In addition, Dr. Michael Anstead, Pulmonary Disease Specialist from the University of Kentucky Clinic, was the keynote speaker and gave a presentation regarding the advancements in cystic fibrosis research and treatment.

Shelby Dees, a senior at Eminence High School in Eminence, KY presented a check to CFF Kentucky/West Virginia chapter during the Annual Awards Dinner. Shelby raised close to $2,000 to help in the Fight Against CF!
