About the Event:

Join the Los Angeles Chapter for our 3rd annual Cycle for Life bike tour!  Our ride will happen on Sunday, November 3, 2013.  This route will not only challenge you physically, but it will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of Southern California.  You have a choice of two mileage options: a 70 mile route or a 36 mile route.  Cycle at your own pace...this is not a race!

Your registration includes training rides, a commemorative long sleeved t-shirt, breakfast, lunch and entertainment the day of the race along with a truly memorable experience!  You can also enjoy an ice cold beer from our host sponsor Golden Road Brewing http://goldenroad.la/
Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to participate in the Aptalis CF Cycle For Life®

Whether you choose the 36 or the 70 mile route, you will enjoy well-marked and monitored routes. The Aptalis CF Cycle For Life® event provides superior SAG (Support and Gear), which are roaming vehicles on the route that can help you with any bike issues, supply you with food and/or water, or take you to the next rest stop or finish line. The routes have fully stocked rest stops, professional bike mechanics, experienced medical and traffic control teams, smiling volunteers, and wonderful food and drinks!  The route itself will be well-marked with mile markers every ¼ of a mile to help keep cyclists safe.

Pledge Minimum - $200

Minimum Pledge Requirement Policy: The minimum pledge requirement is due on or before event day. If you have met your minimum by the day of the event, we encourage you to keep fundraising. Reach for the stars and earn great prizes. Even though the minimum amount is due by the day of the event, you have one month after the event to earn a jersey or other cycle rewards. The average amount a participant raises is $650. Registration fees are non refundable and do not count towards your fundraising minimum. Fundraising is 100% tax deductable. You may select any of the amounts from the pull down menu that are ABOVE the ride's minimum fundraising goal. If the minimum fundraising goal is not an option in the pull down menu, you will need to select the shaded block that is immediately above the minimum amount - and then type in any other amount above the minimum.

B.CEPACIA AND INFECTION CONTROL POLICY
Because of risks to people with cystic fibrosis (CF), individuals who have ever had a confirmed positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) complex shall not attend any Foundation events. These requirements are because CF germs can be passed between individuals who have CF. B. cepacia in a person with CF can cause serious respiratory illness and, in some patients, may lead to death. CF germs are not a risk for otherwise healthy individuals. At any outdoor event, people with CF should keep at least 6 feet away from others with CF.

Despite this policy, individuals with CF might choose to attend events without informing the CF Foundation or without the Foundation’s knowledge. If so, they do so at their own risk. The Foundation accepts no responsibility for any risk to health involved in attendance, or in any social contact between persons with CF. For more information, please visit  www.cff.org
