Welcome to the Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Our first quarter events have been off to a great start meeting and exceeding expectations. Even with our dwindling economic status the support of our volunteers and sponsors still continues to stand strong to help us reach our goals. The year kicked off with our Annual Meeting on February 5, where families and supporters alike came to be updated on the state of the science. Bruce Marshall M.D. the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at the Foundation who informed attendees of the exciting new science that is evolving and that they are directly funding led the presentation.
In late February our Joker’s Wild Casino night was held once again at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA. The club was packed with new and old faces as casino tables were filled and the auction floor towered with one of a kind items. Next came our 5th Annual Brewers Ball on March 7th at the Lafayette Center in downtown DC. With new brewers and caterers for the guest to enjoy the event was better than ever and as always was sold out. Guests danced and rounded the tables until 1 am when the party finally came to a close. Next was the Celebrity Tennis Gala, which featured round-robin doubles tennis with various celebrities, dinner and a raffle.
