Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Chapter

Welcome!

Welcome to the Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Even with our declining economic status in 2009 we were able to end the year on a hopeful note raising nearly 3 million dollars for the Breath of Life Gala! This year we are excited to kick off our Annual Meeting on February 3, where families and supporters alike look forward to hearing updates on the state of the science. Preston W. Campbell, III, M.D., Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation will inform our families and volunteers of the exciting new science that is evolving and that they are directly funding the presentation.

Our chapter is excited to kick off the fundraising year February 20th with our Joker’s Wild Casino Night held once again at the Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA. The bidding wars for the Silent and Live Auctions are sure to be as wild as the dealers! Guests of all gambling abilities can get wild and try their luck at poker, roulette, blackjack, and craps while enjoying delicious cuisine, cocktails, and live entertainment. Next will be our 6th Annual Brewers Ball on March 6th at its new venue The Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC. With an evening filled with new brewers, various caterers and exciting live entertainment this event is guaranteed to be another sellout! Finally to close out the first quarter we are excited to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Celebrity Tennis Gala. Join us for an intimate evening where you can enjoy round-robbin tennis with world famous tennis legends such as Sherwood Stewart, Virginia Wade and 28 time Grand Slam Champion Roy Emerson! Also please be sure to register for Great Strides coming up in May. You can join us at one of our 10 exciting walk sites at http://www.cff.org/Chapters/metrodc/GREATSTRIDES/ or contact us at (301)-657-8444.

Thank you all so much for your support! With your help we are
