About the Event:
The Aptalis CFF Cycle for Life Bike Tour, benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, is a powerful, one-day event that brings hundreds of men and women together in an effort to find a cure for cystic fibrosis. The 2012 event features THREE completely re-designed courses that will appeal to both sport and competitive cyclists alike. Participants can choose between the Sport Course (32 miles), a Metric Century (62 miles) or the Challenge Course (70 miles) encompasses numerous hills and featuring the "Highland Valley Challenge" - a steep, timed (optional) climb with prizes given out to several categories, including fastest time.
All three routes start and end at Mira Costa College and wind their ways through some of the most scenic areas of North County, with views of lakes, mountains, rivers, and the ocean. This is one of the most scenic bike tours anywhere! The tour is a fully-supported journey with stocked rest stops, support and gear (SAG) vehicles, on-site medical services, and much more, including the after-ride celebration.
Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to participate in the Aptalis CF Cycle For Life®. Bike helmets are required to ride.

How to Get Your Wheels In Motion:
Registration fees are not tax deductible and do not count towards the fund-raising minimum and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Your Minimum Pledge Requirement is tax deductible and must be turned in on or before event date.If your minimum pledge requirement has not been met, you will have the option of providing a credit card or cash on event day. You will have one month after the event to submit the remaining balance before your credit card is charged.
TIP - When registering you will be asked to state your fundraising goal (which you can change later). You may select any of the amounts from the pull down menu that are ABOVE the ride's minimum fundraising goal. If the minimum fundraising goal is not an option in the pull down menu, you will need to select the shaded block that is immediately above the minimum amount - and then type in any other amount above the minimum.

Because of risks to people with cystic fibrosis, individuals with a confirmed positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia complex shall not attend this event. This is because B. cepacia can be passed between individuals who have CF through close proximity. B. cepacia infection in a person with CF can cause serious respiratory illness and, in some patients, may lead to death. Despite this policy, there might still be some individuals with B. cepacia in attendance. B. cepacia is not a risk for otherwise healthy individuals. Learn more about alternative ways in which a person with B. cepacia can participate, or call the CF Foundation at (800) FIGHT-CF. Consult your CF care center physician with medical questions.
