About the Event:

Orange County's 3rd annual CF Cycle For Life is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s premiere cycling event. Enjoy an amazing ride beginning at Irvine Lake Park and passing through Santiago Canyon, Irvine, Mission Viejo and as far as Dana Point Peir for our more experienced cyclists. Choose from two routes: our 35 mile course is perfect for any skill level or challenge yourself with our 75 mile ride for the more experienced cyclist. The Orange County cycling community at large considers our event one of the most well-supported cycling events in the region. Here's why: stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles, bike mechanics along the route, support vehicles, ride marshals, great food, beer at the finish and much more. Register today for an amazing ride held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Irvine Lake.

Each rider is asked to raise a minimal of $150 by ride day. Once you begin fundraising, you will realize how easy and fun it is to raise funds for a great cause! Thank you so much for your support!

Participants under the age of 18 are not permitted to participate in the Aptalis CF Cycle For Life^®. Bike helmets are required to ride.

Please register today online, pay your registration fee, create your personal 'online letter' and you're ready to ride and raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We appreciate your support!.

Minimum Pledge Requirement Policy: The minimum pledge requirement is due on or before event day. If you have met your minimum by the day of the event, we encourage you to keep fundraising. Reach for the stars and earn great prizes. Even though the minimum amount is due by the day of the event, you have one month after the event to earn a jersey or other cycle rewards. The average amount a participant raises is $650. Registration fees are non refundable and do not count towards your fundraising minimum. Fundraising is 100% tax deductable. Thank you for adding tomorrows for people with cystic fibrosis.

TIP - When registering you will be asked to state your fundraising goal (which you can change later). You may select any of the amounts from the pull down menu that are ABOVE the ride's minimum fundraising goal. If the minimum fundraising goal is not an option in the pull down menu, you will need to select the shaded block that is immediately above the minimum amount - and then type in any other amount above the minimum.

B.CEPACIA AND INFECTION CONTROL POLICY Because of risks to people with cystic fibrosis (CF), individuals who have ever had a confirmed positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia (B. cepacia) complex shall not attend any Foundation events. These requirements are because CF germs can be passed between individuals who have CF. B. cepacia in a person with CF can cause serious respiratory illness and, in some patients, may lead to death. CF germs are not a risk for otherwise healthy individuals. At any outdoor event, people with CF should keep at least 6 feet away from others with CF.

Despite this policy, individuals with CF might choose to attend events without informing the CF Foundation or without the Foundation’s knowledge. If so, they do so at their own risk. The Foundation accepts no responsibility for any risk to health involved in attendance, or in any social contact between persons with CF. For more information, please visit www.cff.org.
