To honor Pittsburgh’s top single professionals and to bring them together in a team effort to raise much-needed funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The goal is to top the 2007 record net of close to $211,000 to fight cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 young people in the United States, taking the lives of many of those afflicted before the age of 37.  CF produces a thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs & digestive system, making breathing & digestion difficult & eventually impossible.  Since 1989, when researchers made the long-awaited discovery of the gene that causes CF, incredible progress has been made that puts CF research on the brink of a cure. 

The CF Foundation is consistently ranked by the Wall Street Journal’s SmartMoney magazine as one of the nation’s “Best in the Business” for its exceptionally efficient use of fund-raising dollars.
