Nakama Celebrity Chef Cook-Off

Event Overview

Nakama Logo

Join us on Monday, October 10, 2011 in the historic South Side at Pittsburgh’s most recognized Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, Nakama.  Here you will have your opportunity to dine on scrumptious Nakama cuisine while being entertained by your table’s personal chef at the 7th Annual Nakama Celebrity Chef Cook-Off!

Come early to enjoy the outside tent with music, drinks, silent auction and more!  Progress to your table and under the watchful eyes of famed Nakama chefs, guests will enjoy a traditional, hibachi-style dinner prepared by your very own celebrity chef.  Show your appreciation for your chef’s outstanding service - tips are encouraged - in a chance to win autographed aprons and other prizes all while helping those with CF to one day breathe easier!

Former celebrity chefs we’ve cooked up to help serve in previous years include; Sonni Abatta, Johnny Angel, Colby Armstrong, Matt Bahr, Randy Baumann, Wendy Bell, Scott Blasey, Steve Blass, Mikey and Big Bob, Bonics, Guy Gosta, Jaime Dixon, Jim Lokay, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, Jennifer Miele, Alison Morris, Edmund Nelson, Bob Pompeani, Val Porter, Max Talbot, Past and Present Pittsburgh Steelers, and various Pittsburgh Penguins.

Be sure to reserve your table now while they are still available!

Please note:  There are two seatings one at 6:30pm and one at 8:30pm.  Please indicate which seating when making additional notes in your online payment.  Individual tickets will be seated at 9-10 to a person tables and are of limited availability.  We suggest looking at the table sponsorship for a more intimate experience!

Important note on attendance for people with CF and their families:
The health and well-being of people with cystic fibrosis is our top priority. Medical evidence shows that certain bacteria can be passed between individuals who have CF and can lead to worse symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To limit the serious risk of cross-infection between people with CF, only one person with CF may be invited to attend the indoor portion of each CF Foundation-sponsored event.  For the outdoor portion of the event, people with CF should maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from each other.

Please note: People with CF and their families should be aware that individuals with CF might choose to attend Foundation events or meetings without notifying event organizers. We strongly discourage this; however, we cannot guarantee that only one person with CF will be present at any indoor Foundation event. For more information, please call your local chapter.
