STUDY BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Patients with cystic fibrosis who have identical CFTR genotypes do not always have the same physical symptoms. Some of this variability can be explained by genetic and environmental factors but some may be due to non-CFTR genetic and environmental factors. One biological process that is affected by both genetic and environmental processes is the body's immune response. The immune response of one's body is important to fight against disease.

This study will look to see if variation in the specific immune response, TLR-mediated response, exists among CF individuals with identical CFTR genotype as an explanation for variation in physical symptoms.
