STUDY BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Spread of bacteria among CF patients has been reported with increasing frequency. There are no clear recommendations about the use of masks in the outpatient setting. The main purpose of this study is to see whether mask use by CF patients during office visits can reduce contamination of examination room air. Study particpants will be randomly assigned to wearing a mask during the one study visit or not to wear a mask during the visit. Air samples will be collected at different times during the study visit.
