Study Name: Probiotic Use in People with Cystic Fibrosis

STUDY BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This study will look at the effect of taking a probiotic on gastrointestinal and lung symptoms. One group of children with CF will take a probiotic and another a placebo. Comparisons will be made on the bacteria found in stools, number of lung infections, and number of hospitalization and abdominal pain episodes.
ELIGIBILITY
Age: 2 Years - 16 Years
FEV1: >= 50 Percent Predicted
P. aeruginosa status: Not applicable
B. cepacia status: Negative
