STUDY BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
With advances in CF care over the past 25 years, people with CF are living well into adulthood and transitioning from pediatric to adult care programs. Transitioning can be a difficult process for patients, families, and medical providers for a variety of medical, professional, interpersonal, and institutional reasons. Few experimental studies have looked at the transition experience or compared the quality of health care transition questionnaires designed to assess readiness to transition. This study will compare two health care transition questionnaries to aid in the development of CF - specific tools to help medical providers in determining when individual people with CF are ready to transition to adult care.
