Sample phone script

Use this sample phone script to get started when you call your member of Congress.

• “Hello, this is (name) from (town) and I would like to speak with your Health Legislative Assistant.”
  • If you can only reach that person’s voice mail, leave a message briefly explaining why you are calling as well as your contact information.
    
    
• Once connected say, “Hello, this is (name) from (town)."
  
  
• Briefly state your connection to cystic fibrosis.
  
  
• “I am calling to ask Congressman/woman (name) to support the fight against cystic fibrosis by [explain the issue you are calling about].”
  
  
• “ Thank you so much for your time, and I appreciate your efforts for the cystic fibrosis community.”
