Corporate Partners

Our corporate partners provide the commitment that is the heart of all we do. With the generous support from corporations and business leaders, the CF Foundation will continue to fund groundbreaking research and provide the highest standards of care for all people with CF.

Outstanding Corporate Partner — American Airlines

American Airlines
To recognize American Airlines’ outstanding contributions in raising funds and awareness for CF, the company was named was named Outstanding Corporate Partner of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 1980. Since then, American Airlines has been unmatched in the amount of time and dollars it has contributed to support the CF Foundation’s mission. Today, American Airlines remains the CF Foundation’s largest corporate sponsor.

For more than 20 years, American Airlines has hosted the American Airlines Celebrity Ski event to benefit the CF Foundation.
Celebrity Ski

For more than 20 years, American Airlines has hosted the American Airlines Celebrity Ski event, which takes place at the Vail Cascade Resort and Spa. Hundreds of guests, including a host of celebrities, take part in three days of world-class skiing, lively entertainment and enormous fun at this annual event to benefit the CF Foundation.

Employee Involvement

The American Airlines family has also provided generous support for our mission over the years through employee involvement in local fundraising efforts. Many employees of American lend their time as dedicated volunteers within our local chapters, by forming GREAT STRIDES walk teams or participating in other special events.

Each year, the company also donates hundreds of airline tickets that are used by CF Foundation chapters across the country for fundraising events.

Other Featured Partners

 BJ's Brewhouse Restaurant

BJ’s Restaurants has been a dedicated partner of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation since 1999. In addition to its Cookies for Kids program, which donates a portion of sales from the signature dessert, the Pizookie, to the CF Foundation, BJ’s also has made significant contributions from each of its new restaurant openings across the country.

When a new restaurant is opened, BJ's hosts pre-opening parties to give newly-trained staff an opportunity to prepare for opening and raise funds for the CF Foundation.

Additionally, to inspire more schools to get involved in CureFinders, the company often matches money raised at participating schools in the area.

Genentech

The CF Foundation’s patient education efforts are made possible, in large part, through contributions from Genentech, Inc.

In 2003, with an unrestricted educational grant from Genentech, the Foundation established a CF education Web cast series to bring the cystic fibrosis community together in a virtual forum to learn from CF health care providers and researchers nationwide.

Each year, Genentech’s generous contributions to national fundraising events, including GREAT STRIDES, also provide significant support for the Foundation’s mission. Genentech employees have embraced the mission of the Foundation, and many are enthusiastic, regular participants in local fundraising events across the country.

Gilead

Gilead Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company based in California that is conducting CF research also is a corporate partner of the CF Foundation, helping to raise funds for CF research and care programs.

After supporting GREAT STRIDES regionally in 2006, Gilead became a national GREAT STRIDES sponsor in 2007.

Solvay Cares

The commitment of Solvay Pharmaceuticals to the CF community goes far beyond its pancreatic enzyme CREON®.

Solvay has been a partner of GREAT STRIDES since the first walk in 1989. The company’s field sales reps and their families and friends now participate in 100 walks across the country.

Toshiba Business Systems   As a longtime corporate sponsor of the Foundation’s American Airlines Celebrity Ski event, Toshiba Business Solutions and its employees have helped make the event a great success, year after year.

In 2009, Toshiba, once again sponsored the Celebrity Ski, but as plans unfolded, President Wayne Wilkinson was in search of ways to give even more employees across the country the chance to get involved.

GREAT STRIDES, he decided, was the perfect opportunity to bring the larger Toshiba family together to take part in the CF Foundation’s national walks. After a call to the heads of regional Toshiba offices across the country, and with the support of US Bank, Toshiba employees formed dozens of GREAT STRIDES teams. In its first year, Toshiba teams walked in more than 30 locations nationwide.

Toshiba Business Solutions not only turned out by the hundreds for local GREAT STRIDES walks, their employees also put their heads together to come up with some creative fundraising ideas around — from dunk tanks to fashion shows — to garner additional support for GREAT STRIDES.
