As a longtime corporate sponsor of the Foundation’s American Airlines Celebrity Ski event, Toshiba Business Solutions and its employees have helped make the event a great success, year after year.
In 2009, Toshiba, once again sponsored the Celebrity Ski, but as plans unfolded, President Wayne Wilkinson was in search of ways to give even more employees across the country the chance to get involved.
GREAT STRIDES, he decided, was the perfect opportunity to bring the larger Toshiba family together to take part in the CF Foundation’s national walks. After a call to the heads of regional Toshiba offices across the country, and with the support of US Bank, Toshiba employees formed dozens of GREAT STRIDES teams. In its first year, Toshiba teams walked in more than 30 locations nationwide.
Toshiba Business Solutions not only turned out by the hundreds for local GREAT STRIDES walks, their employees also put their heads together to come up with some creative fundraising ideas around — from dunk tanks to fashion shows — to garner additional support for GREAT STRIDES.
