Abbott, Premier National Sponsor of Great Strides, Hits the Pavement for the CF Cause

As the premier national sponsor of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Great Strides fundraising walks, Abbott is also dedicated to giving back to support a great cause.
“Our partnership with the CF Foundation spans 20 years and continues to remain strong,” says Jim Hynd, Divisional Vice President, Cardiovascular Care, Metabolics and GI Care at Abbott. “We’re committed to helping improve the lives of people with CF and hope to ultimately be a part of finding a cure for this disease.”
Employees Rally to Support CF Families
Through Abbott’s sponsorship of more than 600 Great Strides walks across the nation, the corporation helped raise more than $38 million last year — and employees are excited to help make the 2012 walks a huge success, too.
“Great Strides events provide an opportunity for employees to meet the inspiring families who face the challenges of CF every day,” says Hynd. “Every story we hear is extraordinary and only motivates us further to increase our efforts to band together in the search for a cure for this disease.”

Giving Back, Beyond Great Strides
Employees are involved in many other CF Foundation events across the nation, including the Grand Chefs Gala, Ultimate Golf Experience and Teen Advocacy Day.
Abbott also provides comprehensive nutritional, educational and financial resources to patients and their families through CFCareForward, a program that provides a range of support as patients age and their needs evolve.
