Warner Home Video Presents the Spirit of Giving
Every holiday season, families across the nation gather in front of their TVs to view their favorite films, from A Christmas Story and other classics to newer hits like Elf. For the past three years, Warner Home Video has helped tie these traditions to the fight against CF by partnering with CVS/pharmacy for a nationwide holiday DVD promotion that has raised $325,000 and counting.
This incredible show of national support — as well as the leadership of employees in their own local communities — spotlights Warner Home Video’s commitment to the CF Foundation mission.
Leadership at the Local Level
Each year, Warner Home Video employees Frank Kraus and Mark Horak bring together thousands of Southern California Chapter - Los Angeles Office volunteers to rally around the CF cause at local events.

Frank has helped organize the Dave Taylor/Jim Fox Cystic Fibrosis Golf Classic for 23 years, serving as co-chair with fellow volunteer Larry Zide for the past 6 years. Inspired by Frank’s passion for the CF Foundation’s mission to cure and control CF, other employees now join together each year to hit the links as a Warner Bros. golf tournament team.
Mark, president of Warner Home Video Americas, co-chairs the Block Party on Wisteria Lane event with his two daughters who have CF. He also recently joined the chapter board as its Chairman and helped launch the holiday DVD film promotion.
In addition, both the Kraus and Horak families are involved with the Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters fundraising event.
“Thanks to aggressive treatments made possible through CF Foundation support, my daughters are doing well today,” Mark says. “The support of Warner Home Video means a lot to me, and to all families affected by CF, as we work together to help fund the research that will ultimately lead us to a cure.”
A Lasting Partnership
For Warner Home Video, the season for giving truly lasts all year round. “Warner Home Video partners with the CF Foundation because we want to support a great cause — but also because it makes good business sense to do so,” Mark says. “The Foundation is run with the same standards for efficiency and focus on results as a successful corporation.”
Since 2009, Warner Home Video and CVS/pharmacy have joined together each holiday season to donate $5 for every purchase of specially marked holiday DVDs to the CF Foundation. In addition to raising critical funds, this holiday DVD film promotion has also brought awareness of cystic fibrosis to millions of consumers across the country.
This winter, from early November through Dec. 25, 2011, movie lovers can purchase six holiday family favorites from CVS/pharmacy to support the CF cause: Elf, A Christmas Story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tales and The Polar Express.
Through the national holiday DVD fundraising program and the continued support of local leaders, Warner Home Video has proven its dedication to the CF cause.
