Dear Auburn Family,

Hey, I’m Jennifer and I am a junior at Auburn majoring in Accounting/Finance and I’m Cameron and I’m a freshman at Auburn majoring in Pre-Communication Disorders. We’re cousins and we want to tell you about our precious little four-year old cousin, Eleanor, who has Cystic Fibrosis. Eleanor was diagnosed with CF when she was just one month old. She has three, thirty minute vest treatments each day to break up the mucus in her lungs. She also takes inhaled antibiotics to reduce the risk of infection to her lungs, as well as enzymes to help her digestive system. The daily regime is grueling, but God has given her an amazing ability to endure being still for such long periods of time. She’s a spunky little red-head who is praying for a cure for CF!

Our whole family gets involved in raising money for CF across Alabama and Florida to make a difference for Eleanor and everyone with CF. Our whole family is also “all in” when it comes to Auburn! Each of our parents, as well as Eleanor’s parents graduated from Auburn, along with numerous aunts and uncles and our grandfather. We’ve grown up tailgating before the games and wearing orange and blue! We LOVE Auburn and NEED the Auburn faithful to help us in our cause!

CF is a genetically inherited disease that affects about 30,000 children and young adults in the United States. We have seen first hand how life with CF can be difficult. While significant progress has been made toward a cure, we need to fight to the finish until CF stand for “Cure Found”!

This year, in the few weeks that remain before the greatest SEC showdown, the Iron Bowl, Auburn University will be competing with the University of Alabama to raise the most money to put toward research for finding a cure for CF! We can all agree that this year our football team has struggled, but let’s rally around this wonderful cause and WIN the Iron Bowl challenge for CF!
