Team Sonny's Hope

Hello!

This is Mary Lindsey Hannahan! A lot has changed in the last year since you heard from me. Because of cystic fibrosis, I used to take 35 pills a day to stay healthy, and now I need 40. I remember when a round of antibiotics would help me fight a lung infection and I was able to go on with life. As I have gotten older, I see that I have to try harder and longer to overcome each illness. I thank those of you that have supported me through the years, and I am writing you to ask you to not give up on me or cf. I am really excited about the drugs that the CF Foundation are trying to get to the patients. I am now in the 8th grade and still raising money to fight for a cure. I try to maintain a normal life by doing some of the things I love. I’m a soccer player and a cheerleader at my school, and I love to fish! Since I spend much of my day with treatments, doctor visits, and tests, it is getting harder to do the things I love to do. I will be going into the hospital for my 3rd sinus surgery on February 15th. I am still battling a lung infection called MRSA, but I’m not letting that get me down. It makes me want to work harder for cf. There are many new drugs that can really make a big difference in my life and others with cf. Thank you for always supporting me through donations and prayers. No amount of money you send to my campaign is too small. I didn’t meet my $70,000 goal last year. I was really excited to reach $50,000, but I have once again committed to raising $70,000 for cf. A Note from the Foundation:
There is no cure for cystic fibrosis and the life expectancy is only up to 37 years, and there is no federal funding for cf. She didn’t tell you that only on a good day does she take approximately 40 pills and does five breathing treatments, and endures countless doctor visits, surgeries, and test… and that is only when she is well, it can sometimes double when she is sick. Families like the Hannahan’s can not do this alone. Mary Lindsey is leading the nation in the Foundation’s major gift campaign. Her goal is an ambitious $70,000! I am asking each of you to consider making a donation to cf (no matter how big or small) to help Mary Lindsey and others with cf. They need our help. There is much more research that needs funding. One day we will make CF stand for Cure Found!!
