Friends & Family- Welcome to TEAM COURTNEY, where we are RACING FOR LIFE, to find a CURE FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS! TEAM COURTNEY is in its third year and I am really excited to see what '2010 has in store! We are continuing to grow and many lives are being touched. As most of you know, this past March, TEAM COURTNEY, which consisted of fourteen runners/walkers, ran the Gate River Run (9.3 miles) to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). With all of your help, we raised a total of $9,420! For '2010, TEAM COURTNEY will again start completely last behind 13,000+ runners and our fundraising goal has been set at $10,000. We are running for my daughter, Courtney (9), and all others who have Cystic Fibrosis.

Cystic Fibrosis is a chronic illness that affects the lungs and the digestive system. The body produces unusual thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections and obstructs the pancreas which stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. The predicted median age of survival has now reached 37 years of age. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. It is up to all of us to help find a CURE!

I am reaching out to all of you to help again make this a success for TEAM COURTNEY by sponsoring me for the '2010 Gate River Run. We are getting so close to finding a CURE. The money you raise goes towards helping Courtney live a healthy and happy life. I challenge each of you to make a small donation for Courtney. You are able to sponsor a certain amount for each person I pass or make a straight donation online. Last year I passed a total of 9,440 runners and my goal this year is to pass 10,000 runners so if you were to sponsor me $.01 for each person, that would be approximately $100. Some sponsored $.01 for every 2 people which was approximately $50. It is up to you to sponsor whatever your heart guides you to do. Every dollar counts and approximately $.90 of every dollar goes directly to scientific research.

Registration is at 8am and the 6.2 mile walk begins at 9am. This is a great walk and lunch will be provided!
