This is our niece Camryn Pellock. Our sister found out during her pregnancy that there was a chance of Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).
Camryn recently celebrated her second birthday and we are hoping that through research a cure will be found so that she may live well into old age. Camryn is a sweet little girl with a heart of gold. She is always happy to be around her family and enjoys music. Last year our team raised a little over four thousand dollars with your help and we have our goals set even higher for 2010! Camryn is doing well because of funds that are raised for new medications and treatments.
In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
Every year breakthroughs are being made in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. . During these difficult economic times it is understood that extra money is hard to spare, but knowing that you could be saving lives will make it worth while. Every penny counts toward finding the cure for Cystic Fibrosis. We are putting together a team for the Great Strides walk in Grand Rapids on May 15, 2010. Our team "Camryn's Friends" shows that we support cystic fibrosis and we won't stop fighting until we make CF stand for Cure Found! We encourage you to join our team to help raise money and awareness.
