Geaux Team Landon!!! We need you to help us make CF stand for Cure Found. We are so close, but yet we still don't have it! The main reason for this website is to bring more awareness to a deadly disease that affects over 30,000 people in the US and 60,000 worldwide, including our son Landon. There are lots of families in the southwest Louisiana area that also are affected by this life-shortening disease. When Landon was born he seemed perfectly healthy; little did we know that 3 weeks later we would travel to New Orleans Louisiana to find out a parents worst nightmare. Although it was tough to hear we knew that advancements were being made everyday and we were getting closer and closer to a cure. We are pleased to say that Landon will be turning 2 on June 9th and is doing awesome. Every 3 months we travel to Shreveport for his clinic appointments to help keep him as healthy as we can. We also keep up with daily breathing treatments, and giving him enzymes to help him digest his food. The more vital parts of Cystic Fibrosis is keeping the lungs clear, and good nutrition. God has big plans for him and I feel blessed to have him a part of our lives. Today the median life expectancy of a person with cf is 37 years (only half will make it to that age),but in my eyes I see a cure coming soon. We can't just sit back and do nothing waiting for someone to find a cure, we are going to do everything in our power to have a hand in it some how. Our main goal is to raise as much awareness and money for this foundation as possible, but we need your help to make it happen. Great Strides is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fundraising event.
