Attendance Information for People with Cystic Fibrosis

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation welcomes you to its annual GREAT STRIDES walk-a-thon to raise money for CF research and care. Because of health risks to people with CF, it is the policy of the CF Foundation that individuals with CF who have had a positive sputum culture for Burkholderia cepacia complex (B. cepacia) shall not attend events sponsored by the CF Foundation.

Hero Story - Team Tess
Mary Michaels, the walk chair in Syracuse, NY, has done a great job of growing one team into multiple teams. In her first year as a team leader for "Team Tess" (named after her daughter who has CF), she recruited 25 fund-raising walkers and raised $8,000. The following year, and at Mary’s request, two of her teammates "branched out" on their own to form two new GREAT STRIDES walk teams: "Together for Tess" and "Triumph for Tess."
