Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). More than 10,000,000 Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene.

In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s and 40s.

Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now - more than ever - to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation!
