Last year the EXTREME HIKE FOR A CURE set the Charlotte chapter record for highest amount raised for a single event - over $400,000 !!! That brings the 3 year total to over $1 million. This year it is our goal to beat it once again.
What is the EXTREME HIKE FOR A CURE?
In just one amazing day, we will hike 33.4 miles of the famed Appalachian Trail to raise money and awareness towards a cure for Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
Cystic Fibrosis is this country’s MOST FATAL GENETIC DISEASE AMONG CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS.
What can you do to help?
Because of the generosity of friends, family and co-workers over the past two years, the little hiking event that began as a long and painful trek with a few buddies has now raised over $1,000,000. The incredible outpouring of support for this event will allow CF patients to take another breath, see another sunrise or maybe even hike up a mountain some day.
We truly believe that a cure for CF is within our reach and our experiences on the trail over these past few years has only served to strengthen my resolve to continue this fight. Now more than ever, the need for events like this hike to help fund life-saving research. CF Foundation scientists are making incredible progress in the search for a cure, but they cannot continue their groundbreaking successes without the necessary funds.
It is with this in mind that we ask you to put your name on the list of proud supporters of EXTREME HIKE FOR A CURE. Whatever you can afford to give will make a difference and will be 100% tax-deductible. Please be assured that your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
