I am a volunteer bachelorette in the 10th Annual Guys and Dolls Auction Gala benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation that will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010.
Guys & Dolls, in its historic ten year, features 30 of Charlotte’s most eligible men and women who agree auction themselves off with a fabulous date package to the highest bidder, raising vital funds for cystic fibrosis research. Guys and Dolls consistently attracts more than six hundred of Charlotte’s most sought after young professionals and business leaders to the event each year and since it’s inception the Auction has raised more than $650,000, more than $160,000 in 2009 alone!
As you may know, cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 children and young adults in the United States. The Foundation has adopted an innovative business approach to drug discovery and development that is emulated by other nonprofits. The approach has been widely recognized by organizations including the National Institute of Health and publications such as Forbes and USA Today. The foundation receives no federal funding and depends on the generosity of individual donors and corporations to support their lifesaving mission. Your involvement and support are critical to their success.
In addition to putting together a date package which will be available for auction at the Guy & Dolls event, I am personally trying to raise over $6,000. It would be a great honor if you would consider contributing to the success of this goal.
