PROGRESS UPDATE: My counter on this page is a little behind. You've helped me raise approximately $3,531 so far!!! People's kindness has been overwhelming to see. Please help me reach that $5,000 mark by June 20! Every penny counts!
Thank you for visiting my page! Those of you who know me well know I have no family or other personal connection to cystic fibrosis, but that was before I met Joshua - a 15-month-old CF child that stole my heart. Since meeting Joshua and his family I have decided to conduct this campaign in honor of him - and the cure that might one day free him from the bindings of cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a devastating genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. More than ten million Americans are symptomless carriers of the defective CF gene. Advances continue to be made in finding a cure, but your help is needed now -- more than ever -- to help keep up the momentum of this life-saving research.
When the Foundation began in 1955, most children with CF did not live to see their first day of elementary school. Today, the median predicted age of survival for a person with CF is in the mid-30s. This is remarkable progress, but not good enough. We continue to lose precious lives to CF every day.
I've joined forces with others in the area that are committed to seeing Joshua and other kids like him live long, healthy, disease-free lives. But we need your help. No matter the amount, your donation will make a significant impact towards my fundraising goal of $5,000 and the path towards a cure.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis and the families that care for them.
Donations can be made through this web page or by mailing a check made out to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at PO Box 125 Benton, LA 71006 with my name in the memo line.
Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and kids like Joshua!
