I will soon be honored by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at a special event recognizing outstanding young professionals in my community. In accepting this distinction, I have committed to raise money to help.
To me, Cystic Fibrosis hits home. Two of the most important people in my life, my brother Kevin and sister Kelly, were diagnosed with CF at a young age. My brother lost his battle with CF at the age of 24. Despite having CF, my brother was always involved in fighting for a cure. He was instrumental in bringing the annual CF walk to Point Pleasant, and was always involved in fundraising events throughout his life. He never let having the disease dictate how he would live, he was always smiling and bringing laughter to those around him.
My sister, Kelly, continues to inspire me everyday. She has achieved so much in her life thus far that it amazes me. She was a standout athlete throughout high school and made it to compete in basketball at the collegiate level. She recently ran the Walt Disney World half marathon representing Team Boomer, and ran the Boomer Esiason "Run to Breathe" 10K. She is a joy to be around and always looking to raise awareness for CF any way she can.
Together, we can fight for a cure and make a difference in the lives of those with cystic fibrosis. Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation!
