Law Allowing Retirement Gifts for CF Due to Expire
October 14, 2009
A popular charitable giving tax incentive for seniors is due to expire December 31, 2009.
Under the “IRA Charitable Rollover Provision,” persons aged 701/2 or older can make a tax-free charitable donation – up to $100,000 per year – from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA).
The legislation, which was originally enacted in 2006 and extended as part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, will remain active through the 2009 tax year.
