Poker Faces Pay Off for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Seattle

February 23, 2009

At the Washington Chapter's GO ALL IN FOR CF Poker Tournament & Casino Night in February, the stakes were as high as they come: to raise money for a cure for cystic fibrosis. By the time the last poker player had showed his hand, the event raised $100,000 for the CF Foundation.

Washington Chapter's GO ALL IN FOR CF Poker Tournament
Serious poker was played at the Washington chapter's GO ALL IN FOR CF Poker Tournament & Casino Night in February. The event raised $100,000 for the CF Foundation.

Details That Made a Difference

Three hundred guests at the Fox Sports Network Lounge at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks, played poker, craps and blackjack into the wee hours.

Guests danced, dined and bid at the silent auction for prize items such as an opportunity to go the Seahawks Training Camp and to receive VIP access to the Sasquatch Music Festival—one of the top festivals in the country.

In a night of high bidding, the most moving bid of all was 25-year-old Ross Craig’s Bid for a Cure.  According to Ross, “I’m able to stand here before you tonight because of the amazing research and medical advances made possible through events like this evening.” He confided that he now looks forward to having a wife and family of his own. “With the Foundation on my side, I know a cure is in the future,” he said.
