Motocross Legend Broc Glover Brings Together An Easy Ride Against CF

April 13, 2009

Volunteers at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s San Diego Chapter went the distance at Broc Glover’s 2nd Annual Breathe Easy Ride Against Cystic Fibrosis, which brought together more than 300 riders, including 24 motorcycle legends, to support the quest for a cure for cystic fibrosis. Participants rode 100 miles and raised more than $80,000 for the CF Foundation.

Beginning at Old Town Temecula, riders followed a 100-mile route through the scenic Palomar Mountain region in northern San Diego County. Before the ride, guests gathered to meet and take advantage of photo ops with motorcycle champions, for prize drawings, and some festive food and drink.

A Toast to the CF Foundation

Broc Glover, a motocross legend whose son Dayne has CF, took the occasion to launch his exclusive “Golden Boy” Chardonnay. The racing champion, known as the “Golden Boy” of motocross, produced the 2007 Carneros Chardonnay with the help of Highway 12 Vineyards and Winery. A portion of the proceeds will go to the CF Foundation.

Maria Olson, executive director of the San Diego Chapter, said, “The ride exceeded our expectations, and we continue to be awestruck by the generosity of the motorcycle community. The Glovers and our outstanding volunteers will do whatever it takes to build awareness and support to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.”

The commemorative “Golden Boy” Chardonnay (http://www.goldenboywine.com/) is available in limited quantities.
