CF Foundation CEO Encourages GREAT STRIDES Walkers Across the Country

One hundred thousand walkers, walking in nearly every state, will raise funds for cystic fibrosis this weekend—May 16 and 17—by participating in GREAT STRIDES, the largest national cystic fibrosis fundraiser.

In a video message from the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Chapter's walk, which includes the staff of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's National Office, Foundation President and CEO Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., offers thanks and encouragement to all GREAT STRIDES walkers across the country.

"People are out there working hard and raising money, because we don't have time to stop our CF effort," Beall said.

Nearly 250 walks are scheduled this weekend. The 2009 goal is to raise $40 million nationwide to fuel the search for a cure for CF.
