Two Thumbs Up for Massachusetts Film Premiere

December 11, 2006

 Joey O'Donnell Film Premiere
Hosts Joe and Kathy O'Donnell joined their daughters Kate
and Casey (middle) on the red carpet at the Joey O'Donnell
Film Premiere in Boston.

Hosted by Milestones to a Cure Campaign Chair Joe O’Donnell and his wife Kathy, The 22nd Annual Joey O’Donnell Film Premiere, held on November 19, was a star-studded event. Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino joined about 1,200 guests to enjoy a glamorous evening to benefit The Joey Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

After walking the red carpet, guests entered the elegant Atrium Mall in Chestnut Hill, Mass., where they could sample food from local restaurants at the 15 tasting stations scattered throughout the shopping center.

Outside the cocktail reception, limos lined up ready to take guests to AMC Theatres for an exclusive screening of Sony Entertainment Picture and Columbia Picture’s, “The Pursuit of Happyness,” starring Will Smith. The movie and the evening were met with rave reviews, drawing $660,000 for CF research and care.

The Massachusetts/Rhode Island Chapter’s film premiere is named in honor of the O’Donnells’ son, who died at the age of 12. Thanks to the leadership of Joe and Kathy O’Donnell, and committee leaders Mary Lou Crane, Paul DelRossi, Debbie Soprano and Frank Stryjewski, the event was a tremendous success.
