Created by Inspire Pharmaceuticals, denufosol is designed to improve chloride transport in CF airways and enhance mucosal hydration and clearance. CF patients who took denufosol in a Phase 2 clinical trial had significantly better lung function than patients taking placebo at the end of that trial.
