What Milwaukee Brewer fan would pass up a chance to peek inside the dugout or pitch a fastball at Miller Park? On a recent night in September, more than 300 guests got to do both at the Wisconsin Chapter - Milwaukee Office’s tenth annual Breath of Life Gala, All-star Celebration and raised $140,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Details That Made A Difference

Hot dogs and peanuts? No way! Gala guests sipped martinis and sampled elegant hors d’oeurves on the field, then moved on to explore the dugout, have their pictures taken with Milwaukee’s famous Klement Racing Sausages and watch themselves live and in color on the Jumbotron screen.

Utilizing best Bid for a Cure practices paid off. By holding the Bid midway through the live auction when excitement was high and enlisting an auctioneer who drummed up even more enthusiasm about the mission, the Bid alone raised $40,000, more than double last year’s amount.

“My 14-year-old son Connor already benefits every day from therapies developed by the CF Foundation,” said Event Co-chair Greg Meyers. “We believe the Foundation is on the right track and that a cure is very close at hand.”
