Today marks the start of the 24th annual North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC), where more than 3,500 researchers, doctors, scientists and other CF professionals are gathered to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in CF research and care.
From Oct. 21 through Oct. 23, attendees will participate in plenary sessions, workshops, symposia, short courses, roundtables and luncheons, where they will leverage multidisciplinary collaborations to build upon the most promising findings and progress made in the CF field in 2010.
“This is a very exciting time in cystic fibrosis research and care, and the NACFC presentations highlight the tremendous energy and commitment of everyone in attendance,” says Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which is sponsoring the conference. “It’s amazing to see experts from so many fields collaborating here, including doctors and researchers, social workers and nutritionists, and the many other vital members of the CF team across the nation.”
