Boomer Esiason Foundation Leads Major Gifts Match of $5 Million
November 16, 2010
The Boomer Esiason Foundation, along with a very generous family that has requested anonymity, have announced they will give up to $5 million in matching gifts, now through December 31, 2010.
Major gift donations or pledges of $10,000 or more will be matched dollar-for-dollar.
“My wife Cheryl and I realize that our son Gunnar’s future is in the research directed by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” said Esiason. “That is why we are making this pledge to speed the science and get a control in place, sooner rather than later.”
The Esiasons and the other family, also touched directly by CF, hope to motivate others to support the Foundation’s mission with a major gift and increase the impact of their contribution.
“We are grateful to the Boomer Esiason Foundation for leading with a fundraising challenge that will bring us closer to our goal of finding a cure for CF,” said Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO of the CF Foundation. “With their generous support, and the support of others across the country, we will reach our goal.”
For more information on how to participate in the match, please contact Regina Schewe, vice president of major and planned giving or call 301-907-2506.
