April 26, 2011

Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown
NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin has been racing to support the fight against cystic fibrosis since he was seven years old. On Thursday, April 28, he will once again take the driver’s seat to help the CF Foundation fulfill its mission of curing and controlling the disease at this year’s “Denny Hamlin Short Track Showdown” at Richmond International Raceway in Virginia.

The charity race will feature Denny and many more NASCAR drivers and celebrities battling it out on the ¾-mile track with some of the best local Late Model Stock Car drivers.

Proceeds from the event will support the mission of the CF Foundation as well as other programs that help chronically ill children and underprivileged youth.

“We’ve been so fortunate to raise support through the Denny Hamlin Foundation for some outstanding organizations,” Hamlin said. “It’s going to be a great night of racing with the opportunity to help a lot of people.”

You can watch coverage of the race on the SPEED channel on April 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
