California Cyclists Put Wheels in Motion to Cure CF
July 11, 2011
At the 2nd annual Aptalis CF Cycle for Life ride this June, more than 150 cyclists rode hard in support for the fight against cystic fibrosis. Cycling across the Golden Gate Bridge and through scenic Northern California, the riders raised $105,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Top fundraisers from Team Google prepare to ride in the 2nd annual Aptalis CF Cycle for Life.
Led by three-time pro cycling U.S. national champion “Fast” Freddie Rodriguez, families and corporate teams traveled along the spectacular California coastline in Marin County. Upon completion of the 35- or 75-mile routes, guests were rewarded with satisfying food and beverages donated by BJ’s Restaurants, Inc., and Chipotle.
“Every rider at the CF Cycle for Life had a smile on their face,” said Randall Glaeser, who rides for Team CF, a group of competitive cyclists dedicated to supporting the search for a cure. “We had a great time fundraising for such an important cause and I’m really looking forward to next year’s ride.”
