The Affordable Care Act and Cystic Fibrosis: What You Need to Know

Choosing the right health insurance can be daunting, especially for families affected by cystic fibrosis. As health care reforms take effect, the Foundation is dedicated to helping CF patients understand their insurance options and get the coverage they need to stay healthy.

Updated information about the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and how it might affect people with cystic fibrosis is now available on the Foundation's website, including:

  • New coverage options offered under the ACA.
  • Answers to Frequently Asked Questions on changes to cost, coverage, care and Health Insurance Marketplaces.
  • Important considerations to keep in mind when choosing a plan.

People with cystic fibrosis can also find answers to their questions about insurance plans and coverage options, including the new state marketplaces, by contacting the Foundation’s Patient Assistance Resource Center (PARC). In addition to providing information about the ACA and cystic fibrosis, the PARC also helps CF patients find assistance programs that offer extra support.
