April 3, 2014
On April 4 and 5, hundreds of Cystic Fibrosis Foundation staff and volunteers from across the country will gather for the Foundation’s annual Volunteer Leadership Conference.
At this two-day event, the Foundation’s most dedicated volunteers will come together to share fundraising success stories, hear CF medical and scientific updates and plan for the year ahead. This year, portions of the conference will be live streamed for friends and volunteers who cannot attend the event in person.
Conference highlights include:
- State of the Science: Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO, and Preston W. Campbell, III, M.D., executive vice president for medical affairs of the CF Foundation, along with Michael Boyle, M.D., director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program at Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center, discuss the exciting, new medical and scientific developments in the search for new treatments and a cure.
- Real Talk about Real Life with CF: In this virtual panel discussion, four adults with CF discuss overcoming challenges while living with a chronic disease.
- Advocacy Breakout Session: A presentation and panel discussion featuring Amy and Peter Barry, national advocacy co-chairs, and Diane Dudek, state advocacy chair, Greater Illinois Chapter, covers ways to speak out and inspire legislative action in the fight against cystic fibrosis and why it’s important.
The opening plenary of the Volunteer Leadership Conference will begin at 9:00 a.m., EST on Friday, April 4.
