Great Strides Walk Weekend Brings Together Thousands in the Search for a Cure for Cystic Fibrosis
May 16, 2014
United in their determination to help find a cure for cystic fibrosis, tens of thousands across the country will come together this weekend for Great Strides, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraiser.
This weekend, tens of thousands of volunteers, donors, families affected by CF and friends of the Foundation will lace up their shoes and walk in Great Strides, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraiser.
More than 200 cities nationwide are set to host Great Strides events May 17-18, bringing together families affected by the disease, businesses, student groups, CF care center staff and other dedicated volunteers to help raise vital funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis.
“The CF Foundation is fighting on all fronts to find a cure and help people with this disease live longer, healthier lives. Our dedicated Great Strides walkers are an integral part of our collective search for a cure,” said Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. “Every dollar raised brings us closer to our ultimate goal.”
Walkers across the country have a national goal of raising $43 million to support the mission of the CF Foundation in 2014.
