Maze of Cystic Fibrosis Is Getting a Little Clearer

A USA Today article titled, “Maze of Cystic Fibrosis Is Getting a Little Clearer,” published on February 13, 2006, chronicled the CF Foundation’s multi-faceted approached to defeat cystic fibrosis, including the funding of more than 30 clinical trials since 1998.

“Doctors today are attacking the disease at every level, thanks partly to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s efforts to jump-start research,” Robert J. Beall, Ph.D., president and CEO of the Foundation, is quoted as saying.

Drug companies are usually reluctant to invest in a relatively rare disease, and that’s why the CF Foundation offers both matching funds and specialized resources to cultivate promising research.
