GREAT STRIDES is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest and most successful national fund-raising event. This year, in honor of Ms. Ashleigh Pearson and her struggle against CF, I have created a team to walk in GREAT STRIDES at the Montgomery Zoo on Sunday, May 18.
As most of you know, Ashleigh is my girlfriend and I admit that before her, I did not know much about Cystic Fibrosis and its effects. However, It is because of her that I have decided to start walking in GREAT STRIDES, not only this year but for as long as I can. I grow to admire her more everyday for the way she lives her life as an example for others. If she didn't tell you about her CF, you would probably never know she had it. Thats because if you know Ashleigh, you know she cares so much about others and never thinks of herself or her struggle first. GREAT STRIDES gives us the opportunity to show our support and love for not only her but all those who suffer from CF.
Progress is being made every day and with our help, a difference can be made in someone's life. Just a few years before Ashleigh was born the median age for people with CF was 5 years old. Now just over 25 years later, the median age is 37! That has been possible because of people just like you supporting the fight against CF.
With your support I can reach my fund-raising goal of $2,500. By sponsoring me, your generous gift will be used efficiently and effectively, as nearly 90 cents of every dollar of revenue raised is available for investment in vital CF programs to support research, care and education.
Making a donation is easy and secure! Just click the "Click to Donate" button on this page to go to make a donation that will be credited to my team. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated! No donation is too small!
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day. That's why your help is needed now more than ever to ensure that a cure is found sooner - rather than later.
If you don't know much about CF and the CF Foundation, I encourage you to visit www.cff.org to learn more.
Together, we can make a difference not only in Ashleigh's life but also in the lives of all those with CF! Thank you for supporting the mission of the CF Foundation and GREAT STRIDES!
