Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a devastating genetic disease that affects tens of thousands of children and young adults in the United States. Research and care supported by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is making a huge difference in extending the quality of life for those with CF. However, we continue to lose precious lives to CF every day.

We know this all too well as it is 'In Memoriam' that we participate in this year's Great Strides 2009 walk to benefit CF. "Miss Brandie K" sadly took her last breath September 24, 2008 on earth but we know she is soaring among Heaven's beautiful Angel's now. We miss her terribly each day and all the happy, positive energy she always spread around her! The imprint she left behind continues to inspire those who remember her. It is with great resolve that we press forward in continuum keeping her strongest conviction in mind.

To quote Brandie from her entry last year for 2008 Great Strides... "As an adult with this disease it is so important to me to put a face, a voice and a real life story to this cause. Cysitc Fibrosis is part of who I am and how I live every minute of everyday. I hope to continue my fight as long as God is with me and providing me the strength to do so. But none of us can fight this battle alone, we need the help and support of people like you!" (...end quote).
